probably one step above the TW37 since you have a stroker motor. I use the tw-37 gear drive on my 95 in motor and my friend had the same setup with the 570 and mine had mre torque than his. Not sure but some of the real motor heads on here will give you an exact answer.

To the best of my understanding, that cam like about 10:1 static CR. You have nowhere near that on a stock 07 96".

A better cam choice for what you have might be be a HQ-500 or R&R525.

Best bet might be determining exactly what you'd like to accomplish and work towards that. For example, for about the same price as a different set of cams (well, close), you could bore your jugs to 3.875 (103") or 3.93x (107") and get a set of pistons that will get ya closer to 10:1 that your cams want.

Naturally, headwork would help but would not be mandatory.

Dont want my top end cracked open yet. Just wanna get the right cams in there. So the s&s 570g's are more appropriate for 10:1 compression ? So what grind andrews do I need ? Also If i get a set of andrews cams will they work with the s&s gears ?

Your gears will work on any gear drive cam for the 07 & later bikes.

The Andrews 54 is their "new grind" for the 96" inch motors but it, too, likes more compression than you have.

If you plan to open the topend at some point, then you might just wanna hang tight and keep what ya got until then. Otherwise you're gonna end up chasing things until the end of time.

The HQ-500 or R&R525 will work well with what you haveand betterif you do topend work later.

So whats your " best " advice. In all probability I'd say im NOT doing heads or going bigger inch. Do I leave in the 570's or go with the hq's or r&r's you mentioned?

Ok- got the specs on both cams (s&s 570g) and (Andrews tw 54). So could someone please explain the difference in numbers between the 2 and which cams make more sense for my setup ( tmax, reinhart true duals k&n). Im probably not doing any further work to the motor. I also read on another forum that andrews revised the tw 54 so these numbers are based on those findings. Dont know if this is true or not.

Andrews tw54- .555 lift, 16/42 intake timing 43/15 exhaust timing. 242 intake duration 242 exhaust duration

S&S 570g- .570 lift, 20/40 intake timing 55/20 exhaust timing. 240 intake duration 255 exhaust duration

I use the 570's on my 95" but I did the heads and I am running 10.25:1 pistons. It runs like a raped ape but if you have stock heads and compression you will be over camed. On my first build with stock heads I used the andrews 37 b's. That was a 95" too but no head mods. It ran very well too. Just not as well as my current build.

On your 96" it will be roughly 9:1... probably just uder that.

In your currnet config, (stock heads, compression, displacement, etc) the HQ500 or R&R525 will be your best bet. In fact, if the plan is to keep stock top end, I might even say just the HQ500.
