Hi, I'm looking to do a stage one on my 07 sg, I've spent a buttload of time on here reading Everyones posts, I'm addicted, I know that alot is opinions and personal choices, BUt I have to ask, Is there a noticable difference in going with a 2 into 1 vs t/d's , I like the look of the duels more than the 2 in to 1 but I have not had a chance to hear any 2 into onesor ridden a bike with that configuration on it, can you raelly tell the differance between a few hp?so I'm a little curiose in the sound differance also? Thanks ahead of time, T
I don't know about HP, but TQ will suffer if you install TD's. A good 2-into-1 setup will likely give the best overall performance, especially low-end TQ, but this may be their equal:
The Fuel Moto setup is definitely the best bang for the buck if you don't mind the appearance of the stock head pipes. If you're trying to get away from that look, the other two options will boil down to whether or not you mind a TQ decrease, and which provides the best sound and/or look to you. Jamie at Fuel Moto would be the one to ask for specifics on the performance differences, as he's dynoed all of them.

Go with the best of both worlds...I run a Fatcat 2into1 with a ghost pipe. Looks, sound and best of all, performance!
I can't find a close-up of the ghost pipe to see how it visually merges into the real exhaust system? Can you post a photo or explain it? I've never actually seen one on a bike.

Did my Branch 95" build. Was running V&H Big Shot True Duals & Wimmer Mimi-Max intake. Was only getting 71hp.
I knew there was more, LOTS more.
Changed pipes to Bassani 2:1 Road Rage & intake to Ness Stage 2...put it back on dyno, INSTANT 22hp increase.
Was at 93hp, then tweaked on it a couple weeks...got it up to 104hp, decided too much air getting in causing it to heat up, bumped the main jet in the Mikuni from a 170 to 190 in increments of 5 to cool it back down and took some advance back out of timing. Right now, sitting at 101hp.
You decide what made the drastic jump...pipes...intake.....or both.

the motor end of the FATCAT ghost pipe is shaped (radius cut?) to fit the rear header pipe(as IF it would be welded/but it's not.) when mounted the pipe is floating about 3/8"- 1/2" away from the rear header pipe. from the left side off the bike you really can't tell. from the right side of the bike you will see it if you are looking for it.
the thunderheader falsie actually clamps to the rear header pipe. most people wont notice. just spray a little flat black into the end of that left side muffler.[sm=goodidea.gif]
22 ponnies from just a pipe, come on. Was that before or after the build.
You didn't read the entire post.
I stated that I changed both, pipes & air cleaner.
The Mini Max by Wimmer had a waterproof filter on it, restricting airflow as you would expect.
I didn't dyno each part individually after installing so I can't say which part made the most drastic increase.
I'd assume the air cleaner did. Notice, I left that for "you to decide".
I also stated that the V&H duals & Wimmer was installed after the build, achieving only 71hp. I changed pipes & air cleaner, went to 93hp with just that change.
Yes, 22hp from the combination.
