Default HD's Denim finishes

What do you all think of them, I have only seen a couple colors that I think look good that way. One is the Pewter Gray, and the other I don't know the name of, but it it's kind of a gold color. I don't care for the Blue in that finish. Have not seen any of the other colors offered.

This is not a "SLAM" to anyone with a blue one, LOL,

The real reason for this post is,,,

What care do they require? Do you wax/polish them? Is it just normal care? Or is there any special maintenance needed. Also how will they "Weather" or last over time. Any opinions?

Got a pacific blue denim Street Glide. Color changes a bit over time, became deeper and a shade darker. I love it. I use a teflon spray on wax after I wash it, which, to be honest isn't as often as I should. 2007 model, just rolled 11,000 miles. It has held up well so far and will not produce water spots, always air dries perfectly clean

Guy's at the shop tell me the denims don't require wax. But hey, sometimes they don't know very much. If it's anything like the denim black on the vrods, they'll wear somewhat overtime like a favorite set of jeans. At least thats what's going on with a buddies. Don't see too many of them out this way but some of the colors are growing on me.

The whole denim thing to me looks retro. On a retro style bike ie springer it looks tough, on an RG looks to me like somethings not quite right. So it just depends for me.

I've got the denim blue 08 SG...I dig it...is different though.
Here's what the manual says- wipe clean with a glass cleaner to keep the denim look. Also says that the color will fade in areas, ya, just like your favorite pair of jeans.
If wax, or polish is used, you'll eventually lose the matt finish. It'll actually become glossy. The more you apply, the glossier it'll get.

To each his own, for sure but I really don't get the denim look. Reminds me of primer coat but if it turns your crank then go for it.

That's what I thought when I saw the first denim Black bike. You have to pay extra for Primer?

I saw a PEWTER denim bikethat the owner sprayed with clearcoat.
It LOOKED AWESOME! It just came ALIVE. Definitely the right thing to do!

Now that is a good possiblity. The Denim Pewter and possibly the gold looking ones could be sweet with a gloss finish.
One thing I meant above, is I am not positive I love them either. Just saw a couple colors that looked better than I thought they would in person with that finish.... Clear coat is a definate possiblity,,,,
