Default Hoglite install with pictures

Installed a Hoglite under my tourpak tonight. I really like the looks and I think it will make me much more visible when I hit the brakes. This lite is a brake light only and is not on otherwise. If you want one, you can get one here: http://www.hoglite.com/

One thing I also like is that the wire is in the bottom of my tourpak under the liner where you can't see it. I ran the wire out through the RH speaker and located the plug right next to the speaker wire plug so it is simple to unplug when I remove the tourpak. I bought a HD plug and wire ends so it plugs right into the existing plug on my bike. With the HD spoiler, you have a wire in the lid of the tourpak that you have to run down. This costs 1/3 as much too.

Here are some pics. If anyone has questions or wants to see something from a different angle, I can take more pics. Photography is not my strong point (greg!) LOL

Thanks for this post. I've been thinking of adding this to
list of mods but, never seen a post with pics to show how
it looked, other than the website. Looks like a great safety
feature considering all the "rear endings" I've been reading about lately. Would you have the part # of the HD plug & wire
ends to do the hookup??

Guess I'll be pullin' out the "plastic" again to get some
more "safety" stuff.

Thanks for the post.

The plug is a 3 position plug although you only use 2 with the hoglite. One for hot and one for ground. Here are the part #s
(1 each) Tab housing, 3 position - P/N 73103-98bk
(2 each) Tab terminal, P/N 73190-96
Parts cost about $3

I've been looking at this lite but I'd like to put something on the top of the tourpack. I have the luggage rack installed and I'm not really fond of the spoiler. Is the angle of the light adjustable at all or are the mounting brackets 'fixed'?

They are fixed. I held it up to the top of my tourpak and found that it wouldn't mount correctly because the mounting ends won't flex to match up with the curve of the tourpak lid. It will only mount on a flat surface. I suppose a person could fab up some kind of black plastic spacer but that would be the only way to make it work IMO.
