Default Monstermile's air cleaner/throttle body cover mod

Steve came up with the idea to cover the wiring and throttle body behind the SE air cleaner by using the throttle body cover from the SE Heavy breather and putting it on the regular SE cleaner. The only issue was that there was a small gap where the plate bolts to the heads due to the extra thickness of the cover behind the backing plate. Expanding upon Steve's idea I found that you could use the old EVO gaskets that go on the screws of the inspection cover. The only thing I had to do was slightly enlargen the holes in the gaskets to allow the breather bolts to go through. The gaskets have a sticky backing to them so you can put them right onto the holes in the heads and then attach the backing plate as you normally would. I put a new backing plate gasket on the back of the throttle body cover as opposed to the backing plate. I also took the opportunity to paint the backing plate black while it was off. This basically covers up the fugly looking wire/plug on the end of the throttle body.

Parts for this project:

29009-08 throttle body cover from SE Heavy kit
63859-95B gaskets (2)
29241-08 new backing plate gasket

Thanks for putting the finishing touch on my idea dawg. Sometimes it takes two people to complete one idea. Finished product looks good. Gonna order those gaskets now.

Dawg, Can you re-post the pics of the whole thing? I am waiting for my plate to arrive and am a visual person. If I see it I can do it.

I put mine on last week but I didnt get the 2nd gasket. I imagine I should add that.

you need to remove the filter then take out the 3 stand off bolts and loosen the breather bolts. You will be able to slid the cover plate in behind. It has 3 holes that match up with the backing plate. Really a no brainer.

IN the second photo, what are those hoses that look like they are attached to the a/c assembly.

It is the breather hoses. They have routed them to the ground so they can see a nasty spot underneath. It doesn't rob any power to route them to the intake and the filter is serviceable.
