Yep - Zombie thread. Happy Halloween!

That said, I wanted my 1st Harley to be the standard. I went to a local dealer (in 2009) on a demo day and talked to the salesman about it. I told him I wanted a standard. He gave me the are you serious look and said I should get a Street Glide instead. I asked him why on earth would I spend $3500 more for a radio and he just shrugged and moved on. So did I. I wish I would have just bought one then.

Sure, there was more difference than just the radio, I know. But the basics are the same - stripped down bagger. The Moco knew they were losing sales of their golden goose (Street Glide) to the standard so they eliminated it. Too bad. That's the bike I recommend to anyone who wants a used Street. Problem is, they are getting about the same $$ for them now as a comparable Street, so the value is lost.
