I have 6000 miles on my '08 with ABS. I must be the lucky one as mine hasn't squealed yet. I probably shouldn't have said that, now it'll squeal.

My brake squeals at slow speeds too. Has anyone ground a bevel on the edge of the brake pad? I was told by a friend that he cured his brake squeal on his Yamaha.

Mine squeal on my 08 SG a little I think I have about 650 miles on it now. On the 07 VROD nightrod special it also had the Brembo's and it squealed like crazy almost unreal. When I need to change out the pads I guess I will try the lyndall pads. untill then I'll deal with it I guess.

I'm still waiting for a fix. My dealer said they would do whatever I wanted but they think nothing will work. I might let them change the pads. Justwhen I think different pads will work, someone says they tried it to no avail.
I wish someone would do a poll to see what really works, new pads, brake grease, beveled edges, soaking pads.........

My 08 Ultra's rear brakeswere squealing like a train also. I was embarrassed to stop at intersections with it. A 23k bike and it sounded like an old P/U truck. I had it in the shop 4+ times and they did all the things the rest of you guys have mentioned (except charge me any $$). Finally they offered me a special fix. Said a kit had to come from the factory and they had to take a little time to install them correctly. Bottom line is it worked. The first 100 miles I thought ithad gottenworse, if that was possible, then they got quiet. I barely heard any squeak out of them now and it has been about 2000 miles on the new brakes. I even had to sign a wavier before they would put them on. Hell, I would have given my 1st born to get rid of that squeal.
The HD dealers here in th CO. I think are great, really looking out for the customer. I hope you guys can get the same from your HD dealers and have them order this kit, and I didn't pay a dime for these new brakes.

Best of luck,
Dan

And what was the kit that came in that you needed a wavier?

My 08 RK has been back twice for the squeal. The last time the dealer installed Lyndals on the rear free and I paid to have the fronts changed parts and labor, came out to $70.00. They said the new pads throw less dust, just to keep them the same I did the fronts too. So far so good on the squeal problem.

How many miles on the new pads, Sergeant?
Did the dealer think that would do the trick?

I got sick of the squeal after about 1100 miles....had it in to the shop once and they cleaned and bevelled the edges, but the squeal came right back. I ordered the Lyndall Z+ pads and followed some instructions on FASTHARLEY's web site to clean and grease the calipers...the squeal hasn't come back yet. I did both front and rear because the front was dragging real bad....the Z-pads took care of that too. No way was I going to wait until the stock pads wore out...why live with something that's driving you crazy when the fix is so easy?
