It all depends on your riding style, and how hard you use your brakes instead of downshifting.

Maineultraclassic said it best. It really depends on your riding style, and how hard you use your brakes. Some people really lay into there breaks. Some just allow the engine to do most of there slowing down by downshifting.

Too many variables to determine how long YOUR breaks will last.

My 2006 RK Classic is 22 months old and has 29,000 miles on it. By summer's end I plan on changing out the pads... I estimate the bike will have around 35,000 by then.

Mine were gone at 7000 miles on my 07 Ultra, but I do 95% two up, and ride fairly agressively. Rear pads wear diffrently than fronts, so keep an Eye on them.

There is no right answer to that one.... if you live in San Francisco... not long!

My front pads look like new at 28000 miles, and my rear pads I replaced at 25000 miles and there was still about 2/3 of the pad thickness left.
I was going to say the same thing.
I also have 25,000 miles and had to replace the rear tire.I thought I would replace the rear pads since I had the wheel off.The new pads were not that much thicker than the new onesI bought.
Could have left the original pads on.
The best thing to do is measure them before buying new ones.
