I got 2 bells from a riding buddy...... Got them at a leather shop so they gave us leather strings to attach the bells to the bike...... Put the first bell on and figured this hunk of $hit leather string is gonna break and i'm gonna lose this bell.... Went to attach the second bell and could not find the leather string... So I used a black zip tie..... Guess which bell I lost.....

Cheap chinese zip tie vs. good old american leather.... should have knew which would win!

My wife purchased a mounting bracket with the one she bought for me. I have it bolted underneath the bike, near the swingarm.

Wait till you not a big pot hole and that bell dents your fender

If you want to keep your bell on then why not consider satinless tie wire and then you won't have to worry about when it will leave your bike.

I've NEVER heard o' "satinless".....izit somehere close to the metal
known as "STAINLESS" maybe??!!

Those "guardian bells" are purely SUPERSTITION....just anutter
way of the MOCO to sell ya' more CRAP!! (Personally, I think they
are way too "twinkie" to have on any HD....but to each his own!)

A lot of superstitions out there besides this (i.e. black cats, ladders etc..).. to each his own. My wife and I own 3 HD's.. 2 of them have them, the other doesnt. Maybe too "twinkie" for a macho guy like you, but a lot of tough men still like to add them.. just personal preference... I didnt see where the OP asked "if it was manly enough, or ok with you", if they added one... more simply, how have those who have chosen to have them, attach them...

Default RE: How to attach a guardian bell to bike

My wife gave me one for Christmas. I kind of saw her getting it when we were at the dealer. I went ahead and got a hanger off Ebay. It was around $7.00 shipped. It is made out of stainless. I mounted it on the right side mounting bolt for the rider floorboard. It comes with a metal ring to attach the bell with. Try using Item # 14066462327 or search "Harley Bell Hanger".
I put it on because I can use all the help I can get out there!

I used a good old fashion clothes hanger ... looped through the bell and then loosened a bolt under the floor broad and looped it around it then retightened it , been on there over 11 yrs and counting . Never wanted to trust it with the leather string .

Safe riding to all !!
