Don't know about 418s, but the 440s are great.

I've got the 418's on my '95 FLHTC w/ heavy spring. It's a little stiff solo but the&nbsp\\;damping is still&nbsp\\;much better than my FLHX. Rode a friend's FLHT w/440's (standard spring) and ordered a pair for my Streetglide as soon as I got home. I'll post an impression of the ride as soon as they get here, should arrive in a couple of days. Also ordered the front springs but won't install them 'till this winter.

You must've had the HD springs, as with the standard springs my 440's ride very smooth, even with 3½-turns of preload.

Yep. I have 12.5 and I dont know if its coincidence but I seem to wobble like hell now especially on concrete fways. I also have the std duty and have them maxed out and bottom out if I hit a 1" lip on the road, not to mention almost going air born in a pothole. I actually am starting to hate the 440's. I even wrote to Progressive, they wroe back for more info and havent replied since. AAAARRRRRGGGGHHH!

I got a set of 440's with the heavy springs, in chrome on EBAY for 220 shipped and it was the best money I ever spent. Those Harley POS shocks were at the town dump 20 minutes after they came off the bike.

I have a FLHTPI&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; 800 pounds wet, I go 250, went 6 turns down on the springs and I am a freakin happy camper.
