Default LOW OIL PRESSURE ON STREETGLIDE

I got the bike (06'&nbsp\\;Streetglide)&nbsp\\;back from the dealer and according to them, my oil presure is running low.&nbsp\\; At a stand still no oil pressure but at 70 mph it is reading 30 PSI.&nbsp\\; I only have a little over 12,000 mi on the bike and it is having problem already.&nbsp\\; My 02' Roadking ran like a champ, over 38,000 mi without any problem.&nbsp\\; (I am still pissed about by Roadking. &nbsp\\;A cager&nbsp\\;changed lane and took&nbsp\\;the Roadking&nbsp\\;and I out about two years ago).&nbsp\\; Back to the issue, was there a low oil pressure problem with the earlier 06' Streetglide?

My '00 RG reads a little above 0 at idle and at around 60 mph, it reads around 30 - 32. It sounds normal to me. As long as you don't hear any top end noise, I would say it is ok.

I think if you look at the gauge closely you'll see that the oil pressure is actually around 5psi idling and it goes up to 30-35psi on the road. As others have said it's normal (do a search on here and you'll see what others have said).

Enjoy the SG...it's a sweet bike!

More than likely you don't have any problem, but if you're reading a true zero pressure at idle you "may" have either a sender or gauge that could be replaced.&nbsp\\; Sounds like the "dealer" would like to sell you a motor rebuild, or another new bike.

Are you saying the dealer told you that just by looking at the gauge? What kind of a dealer would say that? They all are low at idle on the gauge and about 35 at speed.

Thanks for all replies. So I am okay with the reading.&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;The dealer took me for two bills and told me that this is not normal.&nbsp\\; They said I should be at 15 PSI at ideal and 40 to 42 at speed.&nbsp\\; I do have a little top end noise so I am wondering if oil is not getting up there to lubricate the motor and the dealer is basing the low oil pressure.&nbsp\\; How can I check for this?

If it reads "0" at idle when it's cold you might have a problem! Mine reads 10-15 cold at idle then drops to around 5 when it's hot.
