Hey guys can you post pictures of your black out bikes?

I have a 2008 Electra Glide Standard that I am trying to black out. The only thing I have done so far is that I added black Rush slip ons.

To start with I am planning on ceramic coating the heat shields and to powder coat the hard bags and engine crash bars as well as the horn cover, the mirrors, the clutch and the brake levers. Later on I am planing on painting the front shocks black also.

I would like to see the differences between flat black over gloss or semi-gloss. If any one has any suggestions they would we welcome too.

If anyone has done this, do you know how much money I may need to spend to do this?

Thanks

Hector

Hector, as soon as I get mine badck from dealer service I'll post a few pictures. I have a Crimson sunglo RoadGlide and have powder coated the fork legs and cowbells, crashbar and highway pegs, passenger and rider floorboards, rear saddlebag guards and saddlebag latches, handlebars, shift lever, and have a black ceramic exhaust. I'm planning on powdercoating the turn signals and some rear end components when I get the chance. I used semi-gloss black.
BTW, I did all the powdercoating myself other than the handlebars and crashbars as they wouldn't fit in my oven. I have a local guy that is pretty reasonable to do the bigger pieces. My guess is that he would have done all the parts I listed above for around $300.

The above link shows a lot of pics from chrome to black on thing I did last winter. Your ceramic coating will only come in a satin black, no gloss black in high heat areas. But I coated all the saddlebag mounts, fairing mounts, floorboards and trays, foot pegs and footpeg mounts all gloss black

Don't waste your money powdercoating some minor items unless you get a good deal on it. You can buy the horn cover off a softail crossbones and it is already gloss black as well as getting black mirrors. I would powdercoat the forks though.
