I have asked Avon and they didn't know. I figure someone here knows.

Are the Avon heated grips able to be used as direct replacements for Harley grips? Can they be hooked up to oem wiring and switches?

1. Can't answer your question.
2. Observation, if AVON doesn't even know the applications for their accessories, I'd steer clear.
3. Heated grips seem to be trouble (failure) prone, often in just a season or two. The same money spent on heated gloves might provide better long term service.

 

just use Heat Demons and you can use any grip.
they are reliable.

 

I just purchased Avon Heated Grips for my 2011 SG. Avon did tell me they are compatible. .. but I am just replacing regular HD grips.

 

I've had my grips fail and they have been replaced by the stealer under warranty. I like the heated glove idea, especially if you already have some heated gear. in not, they area kind of a pita by themselves. i have to admit though, i like the grips on a low setting when its chilly (not cold) and i have those summertime gloves on.
