Talking HK Radio backlight is burned out (Update)

Can't see squat at night.
No longer under warranty
Is there a DIY fix?

NoKenDo, the H/K head unit is hella pricey to replace. Lots of folks in here go to places like Biketronics. You can replace the head unit with models that cost 1/4 of the HK and look/perform better than stock.

At 1300.00 per radio, not counting installation, I am very glad I bought the extended warrenty...this replacement would only cost 50.00

Not looking for a replacement just yet, only a fix.
Unless I can pick up a used one on the cheap.
