YES. You will also need a mount for it and the hand controls will not work unless you get a control module for it and I am not sure who makes one for a Pioneer. Check out www.biketronics.com they have a complete setup that I just installed and it works great. Bryan
Sure it will work. I'm sure you can figure out how to mount it. I've got a K-Mart special in my FLHT and it works fine. I don't see what the big deal about the handlebar controls is. Who needs 'em!
A. It's safer to operate the headunit with the handlebar controls than take the hands off the handlebar.
B. It's much more convenient, especially since I wear golves 99% of the time.
C. The Automatic Volume Control that comes with the Biketronics interface unit is nice to have so the volume doesn't have to be repeatedly adjusted when doing city/suburban riding.
The $149 for the Biketronics interface unit is one of the best values I've encountered. I rode six months with no handlebar controls on my '04 police model EG before I swapped out the police handlebar switches for civilian ones and the Biketronics unit. Well worth the $$$$ and time required to make the change.
