Default 4th gear whine normal?

I traded my 05 Heritage for an 05 Ultra a few days ago and realized that 4th gear makes a slight whining noise especially when I downshift. It sounds very similar to the 5th gear noise that the six speed transmissions make only not as pronounced. I never noticed a noise like this in my Heritage. Am I being paranoid or should I have it checked. I realize the reason that the six speeds whine is because of the 2 different cuts of the gears, but what else can cause a tranny to make a whining noise? Is it geared differently from the Heritage? I would prefer to just ride it and forget about it. If the radio is on I can't hear it anyway. Thanks for any info.

Similar experience -- and no, it is not anything to worry about. I went from an '03 Heritage to an '05 Ultra, and I always know when I am in 4th because of the "whine" that goes with it. Just the gearing on our bikes. So ride on, and don't think twice about it....
