Installed Garage Door Opener on Street Glide
This weekend I installed a garage door opener kit on my Street Glide and my Goldwing. This thing is fantastic - works like a charm. I wish that I had installed it months ago. The entire kit (transmitter and receiver) only cost me $80 from the Electrical Connection. Here's a link:

I bought a second transmitter for my second bike - it only cost me an extra $35. For $80 you get the same kit that Harley sells for $130. Installation of the transmitter in my Street Glide took about 30 minutes. The receiver would normally take about 30 minutes also, but I had a couple of issues to deal with so it took me longer. Even so, it's well worth the time and money. Just toggle the brights twice and your door opens or closes.

RE: Installed Garage Door Opener on Street Glide
I did a similar job with the remote opener, instead of splicing into the highbeam switch, I went to Radio Shack and bought a "micro" switch for .25 cents. I soldered the wires to the remote, attached the micro switch. Drilled a small hole in the fairing and attached the remote inside the fairing with velcro and secured the micro switch in the hole. Now when I pull into the driveway I hit the button and the garage goes up. The only down side is if and when the battery dies you do have to take the fairing apart to get to it, But I don't keep a bike long enough for the battery to die. I first did this with my Roadstar Warrior where I hid the opener in the headlight housing.

lil_gmac2 can you shed light on the install? Sounds interesting. I considered buying the small transmitter but just to carry in my leather jacket. The ACC idea sounds intriguing. [sm=confused06.gif]
