I just had handle bars put on by bike and the mechanic had a few choices for trans. oil. I opted for Amsoil since I had heard good things about it here. I think it was 75/140 Gear oil, but will check tonight for you. Anyway... Wow! What a major change. As soon as I popped it in gear I could tell something was different, in a good way. Feels like a different bike now... very smoothe. I'll be staying with that in my trans.

I have been using Mobil 1 GEAR OIL 75/90 or 85/140 for the last 50,000 miles.
Excellent smooth results!

Mobil 1 V-twin in the engine and Mobil 1 gear oil in the tranny.
Motor oil in the motor and gear oil in the gears.
