Default RoadGlide seat question

I have an 08' RG. I am 6'1" and weigh 265. The bike and seat have always fit me perfectly but my wife who is 5'8" and weighs about 135 says it is not that comfortable for her. I put an Ultra Classic seat on there yesterday and we went on a little ride. She says this seat is much better for her but it started killing me about fifteen minutes into the ride. The Ultra seat changes my posture and moves me about 2 inches forward. It was hurting the muscles in my upper legs and the small of my back. Because I like have my passenger with my I would like to make it good for her. I wonder if my muscles would acclimate to the Ultra seat or if I should try to modify either one of the seats. If anyone has any ideas please throw them out. T.

I also replaced the stock Road Glide seat with one from and Ultra and agree with your experience with the posture - it definitely moved me forward and raised me up as well. Took me a little while to get used to the forward position, but my partner sure likes it better than the stock seat.

You might consider the Mustang backrest to see if that helps - I found that it helped with overall comfort.

I like the stock seat on my 08 RG but had WCI (Wife Comfort Issues) as well. I put an Alaskan Leather sheepskin gel buttpad on the passenger seat and it raises her up an inch. I can remove and install it with ease and she likes the ride on this better than the 02 Standard we had.

Rode an 09 Classic and we both hated the stock seat. I am only 5' 8" but hated sitting that far forward. My wife didn't like sitting that much higher than me and also felt that the way it sloped down in the back didn't give her a very comfortable position. She could not get her feet in a comfortable spot. If we go with the 09 I am probably going to use the 08 Road Glide seat I currently have on my SG until we can find something with a comparable seating position that the RG seat has.

Im 6'3" and I didnt like my stock seat either. I changed to a Mustang smooth seat seat to look match the factory look. I think the part # is 72606 and its the best seat I have ever owned

Thanks for the input. I think I will probably modify the RG stock seat ot buy some kind of pad for the back. Where can I get one of those gel pad covers for the rear? T.
