Clutch cable sticking

My Clutch cable started to stick yesterday. I came out from lunch and noticed it does not completely retract. Sticks about ½ inch. Might be dirt, I have not looked yet.

Anyone experienced this?

 

When was the last time you lube it? I had issues with one on one of my bikes that was neglected by a previous owner. I lubed it good and have not had any issues since.

When you push it all the way out can you easily return it to the 1/2" in position?
Is it just slack that needs to be taken up with the cable adjuster?
