guess not, if you're going to do your own maintenance, you should get the Manual.

For the engine-about 3qts.with a cooler, 32oz. in the primary, 32 oz. in the tranny. I use Mobil 1 V-Twin in crankcase and primary and Mobil 1 70/90 gear oil in the tranny. I am happy with the performance of these oils, but if you want to open a big can of worms, start asking people what oil they recommend.

The smartest thing you can do is to consult your owners manual. Or better yet, spend the $$$ on a service book.

Hmmmmmmm, let's see $40 or so for a service manual and plenty of riding time, depending on internet advice, free with a lot of down time. Actually the capacities are in the owner's manual, also.

This is from the Total Motorcycle web site for a '07 Road King:

Fuel Capacity 5.0 gal. (18.9 L)
(warning light at approximately 1.0 gal.)
Oil Capacity (with filter) 4.0 qts. (3.8 L)
Transmission Capacity 1.0 qts. (0.95 L)
Primary Chain Case Capacity 1.4 qts. (1.3 L)

But as has been already recommended, you should read your owner's manual and/or get the service manual. Refill capacities will probably be a little less. HD recommends their conventional or synthetic 20w-50 in everything. Clearly many riders prefer a heavier oil on the tranny.

Maintenance is easy.

Royal purple. Buy 5 qts of 20W50 motor oil, and one quart of 75W140 Gear lube.

On my 07, and my 09, 3.6 qts in the motor puts me half way between the half-full mark and the full mark on a hot motor.

The 07's take more in the Primary, check your owners manual or buy the service manual to be sure, but I'm pretty sure it says 1.4 QT (44OZ) in the 07 and up Primary).

Drain and fill the transmission with the quart of gear lube. Every 20K miles.

Drain the primary and add one quart plus 12 ounces (44 oz total or 1.4 QT) of the 20W50 motor oil. While you have the derby cover open, adjust the clutch (see the service manual - it's easy). Every 10K miles.

Drain and put the rest (3.6 QT) in the engine. Replace oil filter. Every 5K miles.

Check the belt with the little tool.
Check tire pressure and tread.
Add 1/4 cup Sea Foam to gas tank full of fuel.
Lube shifter linkage, and hand levers with the little syringe of super-lube.
Observe brake fluid level and color.

Inspect wheels and brakes at each tire change.

I'm just sayin...
