Default SE Big Bore Kits 88ci vs 96ci

Hello, I'm fairly new to the site (read a lot, don't post so much....) anyways, I need some help. Is there a difference in the heads and pistons in the SE big bore kits for the 88ci and 96ci motors? I realize that the air cleaners are different (efi/carb etc.), but are the jugs and pistons the same? Thanks

I think the question should be 88/95
not 88/96

The twin cam 96 has a stroked crank so it can go to 103 without installing a stroked crank.

Going to 95 ci from a 88 ci seems to be the norm.

From what I have read head work should be considered to get the best results.

Is there a difference in the heads and pistons in the SE big bore kits for the 88ci and 96ci motors?

I suggest sticking with big bore parts that have been know to work well together. Big bore kits/parts need to compliment each other(work together) to produce a good running engine.

I am not sure what your question is, but I believe you are asking if the same big bore kit is needed for an 88ci motor as a 96ci motor. The answer is no.

The short answer to your question is yes, there is a difference. The two are completely different motors even though they're both Twin Cams. You cannot use the SE 96" parts on an 88" motor.
