Default 2009 Road King Classic Throttle Concern

I have a 2009 RK Classic; was riding down the hwy about 75 when the throttle just stopped working. Shut the bike down, restarted and the throttle was working again. This has happened several times and seems to be increasing in frequency; VERY DANGEROUS when riding the hwy!!! Is it at the grip, the wires coming in or the computer? I love that you guys with 08's are happy but telling me so, doesn't help my situation; serious replies only please.

The first post pretty much tells my story on limp mode.

Was this a recall? If so, do you have any idea where in the '09 production run they resolved this issue?
No problems with my '09 yet, but I have not put many miles on it yet.

Had the same problem on my 09 Ultra, dealer replaced the pins in the connector to the FI just behind the air cleaner. The a known problem with fretting in the connector. They also found a broken wirejust before the connector. HD even cover under warranty as my 2 year warranty ran out four months before.
Do a seach on fretting as it has been cover here before.

Don't like the TBW for that reason & the lag. Glad I got an '07;all I gotta worry about is heat & bad cranks. And a few other things.

Default Had the same problem

New to the forum, 2009 Ultra Classic, had the same issue for years. HD replaced throttle twice. Was riding the Blue Ridge Pkwy last year in the rain, Acted up again. Limped to a Dealer in PA. Young Mech knew the problem.

There is a connector with a set of pins from the throttle to the computer. They get water in them and shorts out. He replaced. Sorry I can't remember the part number. Anyway the bike runs good for now.

The connectors cause the computer not knowing what to do as far as the throttle goes. The computer shuts down to idle mode for safety.
