Question Whip Antenna's

Has anyone done long term tie down of their whip antenna's? I ordered a bike barn for my Ultra, and was just wonering if hooking them on the saddlebag latches each night would do any long term damage? I ride everyday, so they will only be that way overnight for the most part. I know I could get the shorter antenna's, but I like the reception I get with these.

I used to keep my whips on the saddlebag latches under my cover all winter long.

i don't think it would do any harm to the antennas, but don't count the shorty antennas out. i put them on my scoot and can not tell any difference in the performance of the radio, or CB.

Well I've had it under a cover, but now putting it in a bike barn and they are too tall.

My tour-pak is off until the next road trip in Jan. Whips are bent down and the tips are clamped into the latches. Stores just fine, that way.

I tie mine down with the latches whenever it's under a cover. I haven't seen any problems yet.

If you read the post a little closer you will see that he says he rides his bike everyday and having to remove them at night and reinstall them in the morning would really be a bit much....don't you think ??
