Default Thinking about buying a wrecked 2007 Ultra Classic and stripping it Bobber style...

I allready have a Road King and have run across a very affordable o7 Ultra that has been wrecked pretty bad. All the fenders, hard bags and tourpack plus front batwing are trash. The motor wheels and tranny are perfect. Has anyone ever stripped down an Ultra and just had it look good like an old 50's style bike? I'm considering doing this. Progressive chrome shocks would look good without the bags. Any comments??????

This would seem like a customizing a old police bike. To seems like a lot of fun. And the sky is the limit.

Guessing you are paying $3-4k? Might be a good project.

If it has a salvage title it will never be worth much. If this is the case be careful how much you spend. Also, salvage titles are a B#%$@ to insure.

It's actually a friends bike he wrecked it pretty bad and is now calling it quits... i already have a 98 king that looks old school big time and just wanted something with the 6 speed and 1500 engine with low miles to go on longer trips. my king has 33k and i would like the fuel injection too. i wouldn't pay more than 5 k for it, which is around what he is asking. It's not a salvage title and no one really knows he wrecked so i don't even think it would be a problem as far as reselling or getting it insured after i'm done with it. Just wanted to know if it was worth the effort and if the end result would look classic like maybe the 50's panhead. Thanks

WHen you remove the hardbags, you can put in fender skirts to clean it up alot . That would look bad ***. Take lots of pics if you do it.

If I had the cash and work shop I'd jump on it, sounds like a fun project.

my 07 street glide is prior salvage and Geico never said a word about insuring it. I really dont care about resale prices because I plan to ride it until the wheels fall off. If it does get sold it will be someone who seen it wrecked and knows the history of the bike.
BTW I am 14k in a 07 street glide with new rinehart pipes that had 900 miles on it when I got it.
I have almost 9k on it now and it goes down the road perfectly.
