Road King Radio.

I decided to improve on my Road King radio. I took some Stock spot light cans and put some quality speakers in them and solid mounted them to the top of the nacelle. Then I bought an Ipod radio from Aquatic AV and modified it to fit under the right side cover. Took quite a bit of work, but the end results are amazing. It has a waterproof RF wireless controller that I mounted in the dash console. It controls all of the radio functions and the Ipod. Here are just a couple pics of the finished result.

(1) Install speakers in you side bags. 6 1/2" for leather bags and 6"x9" for hard bags. If you don't want to cut them out yourself there are companies that sell custom lids.
(2) Install a digital amp in one of your bags. I like Alpine's digital amp, it's a perfect size and doesn't get hot. I would use a trailer hitch plug as a disconnect so you can remove the bags for cleaning.
(3) Install the mount for you mp3 player either on your handle bars or on your tank.
(4) If your bike has a fairing, a Hi-Lo Converter is necessary if you are keeping your original HD radio.
