Headquarters TC-500-HC vs Harley SE-204 cams?

Mike's advice might be great, but I haven't paid for posting a question to date and I'm not about to start now. I'm never going to pay to listen to the radio either (XM et al), but that's just me.
Comments regarding personal experiences with one of these two cams would be helpful.

I rode a 2009 FLHX w/103" and SE204 cams. All I can say is WOW. You dip into a third gear sweeper and whack the throttle open and you're flat trackin'. It accelerates hard enough (below 4000 RPM) that I would be happy to ride it anytime. I've only ridden a few thousand bikes , and most were only 120+ HP imports , but that Street Glide was an amazing ride. Just plain fun. No work or effort-the throttle was a rheostat. We just built a Sporty that put 75 ft/lbs down at the wheel-550 lbs. wet. That FLHX will stomp it. With slip-on mufflers. I'm a believer in the 204s.

Steve,
Did you talk to Kevin late this week, or earlier? The new 525 was only released mid week.
I would check with him again and ask about the 525 as well. If you clearly explain what you're after, he will guide you in the right direction.
DO NOT get caught up in comparing dyno sheets. They ARE NOT always representative of how a bike will actually "ride". What happens at 100% WFO may or may NOT be indicative of how it behaves under normal (99+% of the time) riding conditions.
FWIW, I would be leaning towards the 500 or 525.
I have installed many 500's and they make for an excellent "ride". I ha not had the 525 yet, but am anxiously waiting.

Hi, Phil. Actually, Kevin got back to me on Friday and, based on what I'm looking for, he recommended the 500. I looked at the specs of the 525 and think for my style of riding, with a loaded down, 2-up bike, the 500 would be a better choice for me among the HQ cams.
FWIW, I'm an old drag racer and I've built many street/race auto motors, so I know a bit about engines, cams, and what works for which application. I also know that dynos are a valuable yet imperfect tool and, like we always used to say, "you don't win races on the dyno" so I also know you're right when you say peak WOT numbers aren't everything and, in my case, aren't very important at all.

Something I failed to ask earlier is, how do these two cams idle? Smooth, choppy, rough? Your impressions would be much appreciated. I see the 500 has 39 degrees of overlap which I'm sure wouldn't be a problem, especially in a big bore motor, but I'd like to hear from someone regarding how it idles. Thanks!
