Champion. I have compared them to OE plugs. They are identical in all aspects except the part number.

Champion is OE supplpier for HD. Other brands may work, but compare the electrode and the cermanic and you will see the Champion is longer like the HD one, just sayin. I use NGK in everything else I own, if it was not for my EVO fouling the NGK out, I would have never stumbled on the Champion ceramic being longer.

I've been using Autolite 4163, which is a heat-range colder than stock. Works great, costs about $1.75, and doesn't interfere with the ion-discharge knock-sensor.

Hmm.. last time I changed my OE plug was at my 20k service and that was 4yrs+ and 29K ago.. Still runs perfect, starts great and hasn't lost any fuel mileage.

An old wrench told me back in the 70's on my 1st Harley.. IF she's running good and starting good,, then don't mess with anything, just ride her..

I am with molsen on any internal benefits. If it fires, you are OK. However, in my long term life experience, NGK has the best outer finish. Same results in my outboard. You sure do not need a special tipped long life plug. Just change them ever 10K. Then you will not have any problem getting them out. I cannot see much difference in price in the NGK or Harley Plug.

I think we get caught up in all this tech crap. They make a so-called better plug that cost 5 times as much and we THINK they are better. What are the real factual documented benefits? Fractional at best-maybe. How long have Harley's been running on stock copper plugs? 112 Years+. Change at regular intervals and use correct gap plugs that are recommended for the machine and I doubt you will go far wrong. Also, every dealer has them. No hunting all over. Change your oil/change your plugs/blow out or change air filter.Done deal.
