Default Ignition Switch Connector Removal

Anyone have any luck removing the ignition switch wiring connector without buying the special removal tool (HD-45961). Don't mind buying tools but specialty tools to use only once dont' interest me. Looks like a very long 1/4" slotted head screw driver to me.

Anyone???

If your careful and don't turn the bars much you won't even need a screwdriver.
If you do get it messed up a screwdriver will work.

I'm guessing you want to take the terminals out of the connector. Any place that sells tools will have the tool you need. My bet is it will be much cheaper than HD.

Just installed the cruise control on my 08 FLHT. Just made a copy of the switch rod out of 3/8 bar stock. I don't know what the tool cost but it took me about 15 min. to knock out on my lathe and milling machine. I tried the screwdriver but couldnt get it to work on the bottom lock part, all i could get it to do was turn the ing. on or off.

Honestbob: I was actually asking about the ignition connector removal tool not the ignition switch alignment tool but now that we are on that subject; What did you copy? Do you have a picture or drawing of the end/profile of this tool?
