Sorry to be ignorant, but adjusting this cam will make sure that the wheel is straight in the swingarm? There's nothing to measure?
They turn together since the right side cam has a flat spot on the axle and cam that lock it in sync with the left side cam. It'll be aligned unless you have a bad frame or you need an engine alignment.

I agree that there is no one more meticulous on my scoot, than me. Quick question: what method do you use to make sure that your back tire is straight in the swingarm so it will track straight down the road?
I let the cams on the axle handle that. I just make sure that the last adjustment is tightening the belt. If I get the belt too tight, I will make a large adjustment to loosen it, push the axle forward until the cams hit both sides and start over.

Thanks for helping out the challenged!

Agree! unlike the sporties and Dynas where you can adjust each side of the axle independently, the EGs have a cam that is hooked to the axle. Thus when adjust the belt tension, when you turn the cam on one side, it turns the cam on the other side, ensuring the wheel is straight.

Got my tires on, Elite 3...front and back...160 on the back. On a 08 ultra, and went for a ride today and I'm so glad I listen to you guys, you told me how well they made the bike handle and the groves in the road I wouldn't feel and the bike turns quicker.....I just can't say enough about them, I'll never run anything else............thanks to all that guided me in that direction......smokey mountains next week....I'm ready!
+1 on these. Just put them on and wow what a difference. Ordered mine from motorcycle-superstore... free shipping too. Best money I have spent in a long time.
Just put the Elite 3 160 on the back after 5500 miles on an Avon Venom ( whoever recommended these must not ride much) and +1 on the Elite 3. I still have the Avon on the front but will change with the next back if it makes it till then. I never could get over 7-8K out of the 402's in the rear so I'll be glad with anything over that since the handling is worth it!

Is the MU90B16 in the elite 111 close enough to the stock MU85B16 to cause no problems with rubbing?
MU90 is fine , isnt very much wider than the 85

got a question that someone may be able to help with. i have an 08 streetglide with eleven thousand miles on the stock tire. i bought a mu9016 dunlop elite, and need to know the procedure for removing the wheel. from the right side removing the muffler to get access to the axle bolt, then it's simple? want to remove the wheel and take it to a motorcycle shop to get the tire swapped out. or is it easier to just ride the bike to a shop, although they might not be pleased with just making the money for swapping out a tire that i bought somewhere else, meaning that they didn't make the mark up on the tire purchase? thoughts please. need the new rubber on the rear. thanks in advance.
