Stop rattle with shifter linkage cover?

Stop rattle with shifter linkage cover?
I just put a HD shifter linkage cover on and cannot get it to stop rattling!!!!!!!! It is such a PITA push and pull configuration. Has anyone put one of these on and have this problem?

Mine rattled all the time so I removed to discover shift linkage ends were bad. Going to buy a new linkage with hiem joints.
