Default EG Ultra Shocks???

OK so this might be a stupid question but here it goes anyway. The other day when I had my bags off cleaning my bike I decided to check the pressure in my shocks. I took out my trusty pressure gauge and nothing... So I took out my second trusty pressure gauge and nothing. So what do you check the pressure in these shocks with and what should the pressure be? How do you fill them if needed?

The owners manual gives you the various settings for differant conditions. The Harley pump works really good.
BTW, there is no need to remove the bag to check pressure. Just open the lid, and the Harley pump hose screws right on.

I ride 15 psi solo and 35 psi 2-up. Handling and ride comfort are excellent.

Do not use an air compressor to fill these shocks. It will ruin them.
Get the Harley hand pump and keep it in one of your bags.
The HD pump has a gauge on it so you can also just use it to check the pressure like you would use a tire pressure gauge.
I keep mine with about 25lbs air pressure and it seems fine for solo and 2 up riding.

I'm pretty sure oN my 12 SG it's 50lbs. I've been running 30 two up. In a weeks time it lost 10 lbs, so check regularly.

What bike?

Beware - I originally started this thread when I had my 08 Ultra. Traded for a 10 Limited. Pressures are completely different. Make sure you get max pressures for your bike!

Ok, I've read almost the whole thread and read about using the HD pump and not using a compressor. Well, if someONE did use a compressor and ruined the shocks how would ONE know. What I mean is what are the effects? No pressure, leaking seals? I've used an air tank

I run 50 psi all the time. 10 Ultra and fully loaded touring. Even when it's unloaded I leave them at 50. I'm 220 and it has bottomed out once or twice.

Given my weight and the loaded gear the owner's manual shows 50 psi.

08 and earlier max=40psi. 09 up max 50psi.
