Air Shock Pressure
My Electra Glide was riding like a log wagon. Being new to Harley, I read the manual and it said to use hand pump and keep it at 10 psi solo if over 200 lbs. Being 245, I did this. After reading this forum, I just raised it to 20 psi. Wow!! Amazing difference. Thanks guys!

On the ride home when I purchased my used 08 Ultra I hit a manhole cover that was raised a little, I thought nothing of it as I was approaching it, whamm. That back end hit and I my back was feeling it for blocks. I bought a shock pump instantly for the dealer and found I had zero pounds. I put 15 psi in and the ride was incredibly better, Like a different bike. I've been monitoring the pressure now for months, it's been holding steady. I even tried putting a little more in, 20 psi, but could not feel a difference. I've been riding with the 20 psi and it seems just fine solo or 2 up.

With reading this thread i gather to use a H.D pump to add air... along with the 10 percent rule for PSI
My question is i tried to let the air out and nothing !! Does this require a H.D pump as well to release air ? I thought it be like any other valve once depressed the air would come out
Not the case ...so how do you let air out

I'm 205 with wife at 130. We run 40lbs and occasionally bottom out. I have to check pressure frequently. it will bleed off every 3 weeks or so down to 25lbs and I really bottom out with that pressure. My old bike an 07 we could run 30lb and be ok. You must have a pump to keep your pressure steady.
