Default nitrogen or air in your tires?

What do you run in your tires and why?

Air is 78% nitrogen, and that is usually free

But seriously.... I use normal plain old compressed air. Main reason is that is what comes out of my air compressor .

People use nitrogen for various reasons:

less volume change with temperature change
larger nitrogen molecules will pass slower through rubber tires
no moisture in pure nitrogen
if it costs more it must be better
but mostly because of real good salesmen

I also use plain old air...Doesn't bother me to top off the air in my bike once a month or so...with nitrogen, I wouldnt have to do that as often...but it's not worth the money in my opionion.

yes, nitrogen is about 78% of what we are breathing now. but be sure to use harley davidson air, cause you wouldn't wanna void your warranty. honestly, you'll surely be checkin your air in your tires on a regular basis whether you're running air or the new and improved nitrogen. i just don't buy into it myself. what's another twelve percent or so gonna improve over what comes out of my compressor? your choice though. i think it's a way for someone else to jam their hand into our wallet. my nickels worth anyway.

you would think you need to have a second set of valve stems 180 degrees apart so you can open one set to push the remaining air out of the tire while filling other wise you won't have 100% nitrogen in the tire. just a thought

btw i have seen wheels made with two locations for valve stems just for this purpose.

i could see if your racing indy car where the smallest factors come into play.....
what are you gonna use if you ever need to put air in your tire and there is no NTG dealer where your at or none open? your gonna use good ole fashion air....which then dilutes your 100% NTG. save your $$ for some chrome. just my thoughts and thats not sayin much....lol

I use helium as it makes the bike lighter, so it uses less fuel and accellerates faster.
