Default Hi-Flow air cleaner or a Hyper-Charger?

Looking into one of the two, air-cleaner or Hyper-Charger. '09 Ultra that I just put V&H's basic slip-ons that seemed to open it up a bit, but the air cleaner is next. Anyone have experience with the hyper-chargers? I have heard mixed results, especially in heavy rain. Any input would be appreciatied. Thanks, ride safe!

I have seen Hyperchargers rob horsepower and cause a "surging" condition at set throttle positions. Our nick name is "slowcharger", I would recommend almost anything over the Hypercharger.

Hyperchargers might rob performance, but they are great if you are going after that retro 90's, mullet headed, pointy-toed snakeskin boot look. The three actually go together and compliment one another well...LOL.

An ex-girlfriend's Dad had a RK, put a hypercharger on and within a week pulled it back off because he said his bike felt like a damn Yugo.

When looking at stuff for my new bike, I opted to go with the MoFlow air cleaner.

V&H have just come out with a new air cleaner, black or chrome. Don't forget you will need fuel management with pipes and AF upgrade. Plenty of styles of AC to look at. As for the Hyper charger in the rain, we just came back from a trip when we were in heavy rain for a day or so. My buddy has one on his SG and he did not have any issues.

Had a hypercharger on my 07 streetglide and it work great, no problems at all. 90 lbs. of torque and 79 horsepower with a 2 into 1 samson exhaust and a pc 3, with no motor mods. Would have done it again but fell for the heavy breather look and love it . More room for your leg with the heavy breather.

That is a nice looking air filter set up, the lower fairing is keeping it from doing its job though......

There is plenty of air moving past that engine for the Scoop to utilize efficiently! You don't need it to be in the windstream for it to gather all it needs. Remember...the air flows around the engine to cool it!

i like mine !! its what you want that matters... i had to go 2 sizes larger on my intermediate jets, it runs strong.. seems like most dyno tuners just cant supply the air that it will push to motor( their little fans are for cooling engine ,not for simulating air flow on a bike going 60 + mph) butt dyno has to be used sometime...JMO
