Hey all,

Looking for some advice on a GPS. New career I'm doing necessitates getting a GPS and I was thinking of one that will fit in my truck and convert to on my bike when I want to put it there. Any advice or experiences would be welcome.

Thanks, WB

I went with the Zumo450 (which is now discontinued)for primary use on the motorcycle. It's waterproof and built to withstand harsher use and vibration. It came with everything needed to mount on the scoot. Then I added to the order a vehicle cradle and 12v power cord for use in my truck or car. For $450.00 I got the best of both worlds and have used it on all of my vehicles. It was worth the $$$.

I have Garmin NUVI 755T that I use in my truck and my Harley. Retails for around 500, but I found mine for 300. A lot of good features built in. You can go out to the Garmin Web Site and compair the models on there.

I just got a Nuvi 765T from pricegrabber for $329. Awesome unit and really happy with it. I've got a Ram Mount coming and a Powerlet Powerbar mount as well. Unit is widescreen, speaks names etc.... my first GPS and the things better than slicebread lol.

I'm going to go with the croud and also recomend Garmin. I have a Nuvi also and love it. Also got a RAM mount to use it on the bike.

There are cheaper GPS units than Garmin, but there are not better GPS units that Garmin.

Get a wide screen one if you can. They really show you more of what's on your right and left. One thing I found that was a great help while riding through the Rockys at night is that a GPS will show you the road way ahead of your headlights. I love my GPS.
