Default 10,000 Mile Service and End Cap on Handle Bar Handle

For starters, the cap on the end of my handle is loose…How the heck do I put it back on? Glue?

Secondly, other than changing the oil on a 10,000 mile service what else does Harley do that I need to spend over $400?
If I change the oil is that enough???
I have a RKC 07.

Thanks,
Ken

oil in all three, spark plugs, air filter, Adjust steering head bearings, and inspect things like spokes, brake lines, clutch, brake pads, tires, primary chain tension, its pretty basic stuff. Have a buddy help over a couple beers and save you money. spend the money on good oil and filters, and have fun learning about your bike.

The service manual has the detailed maintenance schedules and procedures if you decide to do it yourself.

As for the grip problem, make sure there is enough clearance between the grip and the end of the handle bar such that handle bar isn't hitting the end cap and making it come loose.

first thing to do is spend the sixty bux for the service manual, everything that is required at so many miles service is listed in there. and you're gonna need it if you plan on doing it yourself. you may find one cheaper in the classifieds section of this forum. and yes, they are year specific, don't get the wrong year. it won't cover everything properly.

HD grip end caps almost always work loose, even sometimes fall off.

If the cap is just loose, pull it all the way off and reattach with a quality epoxy.....or live with it like I do.

If it is the throttle grip cap that needs repair, take care not to allow excess epoxy to bleed inside where it might inhibit operation of throttle after it hardens. The throttle grip end cap is best repaired when removed from handlebar for that reason.
