Angry 2004 FLHT leak

Has anyone had this problem, my 04 FLHT I replaced the factory inner primary with a chrome inner primary twice now. The first one leaked at the bottom bolt were the inner primary bolts onto the engine, now the second one is leaking in the same spot. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this problem. I never had this issue before with the factory inner primary.

Replaced all gaskets as well as O ring, the leak seems to be coming from the rear where you have three bolts that hold the rear portion of the primary in place and by all indications from the low bolt.

The inner primary bolts to the engine by way of special sealing bolts that have a built-in rubber seal under the head of the bolt. These are a one time use bolt. Did you replace the bolts with new when your reinstalled?

The bolts that bolt the inner primary to the engine (5 of them) on my 08 are these sealing bolts. I will have to double check as to if they are the same on the 04. Every time you remove them, you need to use new ones.

Eh, I just double checked and I believe your year was still using the lock tabs and bolts, not the sealing bolts as the newer ones use.

I know my 03 has lock tabs & bolts, I have repaced the rear seal twice and I noticed yesterday it is "weeping". Its not a full blown leak just enough to be wet. Have always been carefull to make sure not to damage the seals and o-ring during assembly. Kind of a PITA to keep opening up to change.

When you had the inner off, did you replace the shift shaft seal in the tranny? The pos seal that HD uses is notorious for leaking. I've done alot of these, mine as well. Get the James seal, HD's sucks. Weeps real slow and make's ot look like the prim is leaking.
