adjusting oil pressure relief spring
Having problems with low oil pressure so my first step is what I think is the easy first step, add the Beasley spring. I see a correlation between oil temp and oil pressure, don't know which is causing which but as the oil temp slowly rises to 230 degrees the oil pressure drops from 30psi to 15psi at 2000rpm. Have an oil cooler and I am trying to keep pressure up and move through the cooler. That is the background, here is my question, is there room to replace the spring without removing the cam plate or does the plat need to come off to install the spring. Thanks for any help you can give.

In any event, if the bike has the pre-'07 tensioners, you can inspect them when you pull the cam cover.

My RK top end quieted down some when I put in a Baisley spring. I replaced mine when I had the cam chest apart but you could do it with just the cover off. Just make sure you have the spring compressed enough and the roll pin lines up with the back hole. I remember reading somewhere that people have knocked a chunk out of their cam plate by not have the pin lined up good and trying to drive it in.
Oh yeah..it's Baisley not Beasley.
