Ignition switch realignment?

Ignition switch realignment?
I removed the ignition switch on my Ultra to replace the handle bars and put the shaft back into the switch to lock the bike until I got back to it the next day. When I tried to unlock it, it would not turn so I took the switch assy. off and got the shaft out. Now I can't get it lined back up to replace it. Can anyone tell me if there is a drawing available to show me what I am doing wrong. I will order the alignment tool if it is my only choice.
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks and have a great day,
Ken

I just had my fairing cap off and was worried about the ignition switch. Between the manual and this thread I felt comfortable taking it out. I kinda had an understanding of how the switch worked and what I would have to do if there was a problem. Thankfully It went in and out without any major hitches. I removed my switch in the off position so I wouldn't have to mess with locking the forks. Anyway hope this old thread has what you are looking for in it.
