Garage Door Opener Wiring Quesion
I read the great ideas about wiring a momentary switch to a garage door opener but didn't see detail on the wiring point inside the opener.
I am a complete rookie when it comes to soldering/wiring...just the basics...so this fits me just fine.
However, inside the opener activation is handled by a tiny little button that the case's switch presses. he plastic outer switch presses in on a miniature button (mini momentary switch?).
Do any of you know exactly WHERE I should solder the wires when it's a little button design like this? You know, there is not just two exposed contacts...it's a tiny dot-button and is not obvious where to wire-up the new momentary switch.
Anyone?

You should be able to flip the circuit board over to see where the push button contacts come through the circuit board. Just solder across from contact to contact. The leads you want to hook to your high beam wires are the wires you solder on to each end of the battery contacts.
If you have other questions send a pm to BSEA who entered post #24 on the DIY thread. Thats what I did.

if you remove the board from the remote, and look on the back, you will see the contacts that the button uses. In my case, there were multiple, so i needed to use an Ohm-meter to see which ones created continuity when the button was pushed. At that point, i soldered my wires to it and the rest is simple.

Oddly, my "opener" only works if I pull-up with a package from a certain specialty shop strapped on the back...can't quite figure-out the connection between these packages and that darn opener...hmmm...it's a real mystery.
That is hilarious!!! Nice job.
Thanks for grin...
