I had the J&M's in my 07 Streetglide, they were a nice improvement over stock. I wanted more, got the Hogtunes amp and speakers. Even better until the fuse started blowing and when it got hot out the sound level would decrease a lot. I wanted to send the amp back to be checked (this was a few months after purchase), they said it was "most likely" the radio and wouldn't take the amp back, even just to check it out. Radio fuse wasn't blowing...

Short version, I'd go with J&M.

I also have the J&M speakers and I really like them. They are also coming out with 7.25" speakers shortly (the batwing fairing may already be out, but the sharknose will be out in mid Nov.) so you may want to wait. The owner of J&M is a sponsor on this forum, so he may chime in himself to give his $0.02...

I don't have any experience with the J&M speakers, but I recently installed Hogtune fairing speakers on my EGC and was amazed at the improvement in quality and volume. I've had no problems at all with them, and until ltdan's post, hadn't heard anything negative about the Hogtunes....just my 2 cents

I wouldn't waste my money on the J&M speakers. At best they are a $20 improvement not a $129! In short not much improvement for the money. When using my ipod they still distort at about half volume. When I discussed this with John he suggested that they may have been installed wrong. I double checked and they were installed correctly. At the end of the day they weren't very worried about customer satisfaction.

I put the hogtunes front fairing speakers and amp on my bike a few weeks ago. The sound quality is better over stock but the volume level is only marginally louder. I havn't heard j&m so I can't say about them. If I had it to do over again I wouldn't have spent the money on hogtunes.

I have the J&M speakers front and rear on both my bikes and they sound great.

It says in the HD manual if you will experience speaker distortion if you turn up your MP3 more than half volume. Says use the radio to control the volume, not the MP3. I have found that the MP3 players do not give good sound on any vehicle radio anyway.

I have been very pleased with the Hogtunes amp and speakers. Sound quality much better than the stock speakers.
