Default Tire mileage

This is the first touring Harley that i have owned and i just put a new set of tires on it. It's an 08 Ultra Classic. It has 15k on it, and i was wondering if that is about average for tire wear.

15k sounds real good. I replaced my rear at 13,500 and probably could have gone to 15k but it was in the shop for other stuff anyway.

I got 15700 miles on the original rear and 33000 out of the front.
Depends on air pressure, load, the way you ride and i bet the road surface.

10,000-15,000 is about right on the rear every other time for the front.

15k is pretty amazing in my opinion. I seem to be running 10k if they're conservative highway miles, 7k or so if I'm thrashing on it.

That's about what I get on Dunlop Tires, 15000 give or take. I have 13000 on my 08 and plenty of tread yet.

A tire's performance in the wet is very important to me.

I got 12,500 miles out of some Elite 3's. I noticed that the rear got really slippery in the rain at that mileage. These tires stick very well in the rain up to that point.

I am now running Conti Milestone's and am very happy with their wet performance. I was able to maintain 65 mph with confidence in the rain from Nashville to Louisville. I'll be happy to get 10,000 miles from them.

My mileage is similar but not as good on the front. I changed the rear tire at 13,000. Having the front changed tomorrow at 20,000. YMMV.

The Road King about 11,000 to 12,000 on the first two rear Dunlop D402's and put just under 17,000 on the front Dunlop D402. Wife's Deluxe (Dunlop D402) rear tire just replaced at just under 11,000 front tire still looks very good; should match the Road King. This is checking tires and pressure religiously, too!

Air pressure is very important and how you manage the throttle. Also how much you use the rear brake vs the front or if you use them in sync.

15k is good for sure.
