I'm 6'2", run a clearview 9.5" w/recurve, air deflectors and lowers on my '08 FLHX. Very little buffeting at any speed. YMMV.

I am curious.
Do the deflectors help reduce wind noise thus improving stereo sound?

Yes, a bit. I've been down a click on volume since I added them.

wind is one thing...buffeting against your head is another. I had the same problem with my SG until i put on a 9.5 recurve...now i enjoy the wind and my head feels fine even after sveral hours on my bike.

Kuryakyn Dragon Wings and a 6.5" KlockWerks Flare works super good for me. I wear no helmet and use Panoptx Diablo Day/Nights.

2 of 2 - No.
I just installed the $117.00 plastic marvels on my street glide and I couldnt tell the difference of any reduced wind buffeting. To answer your radio question...I couldnt hear the radio UNTIL I installed Hog Tunes. Now, finally, I can hear the radio.

went from an 05 roadglide to 09 streetglide. They should come up with a frame mounted batwing. I didn't really like the look of the roadglide, but the fairing is years ahead of the batwing for wind!!
