adding front fairing to my road king......
I've been looking into getting a front fairing for my roadking......
I've looked at the quadzilla from hoppe, gragefather, and the fairing from deadcenter..... I'm leaning towards the deadcenter fairing because it has permanent mounts.
Has anyone actually used any of these and liked them. Do they look similar to the factory harley fairing? good quality? and more importantly do they rattle or vibrate?
Photos welcome......... any thoughts?

RE: adding front fairing to my road king......
It came with the 12" clear shield ,but i have a 8" tinted one on order.
I havent had any buffeting or rattling, nor vibrations when it's on.
I bought mine from americanclassicmotors on ebay, saved about $200. bucs(they have more)
Had it painted for about 200. with two matching helmets.

I went with the Dead Center Cycles fairing. The clincher for me was the fact that it will lock to the bike. Also with the forks turned and locked it's virtually impossible to mess with the fairing lock. I installed my own stereo and speaker setup, also installed a power port for my heated gloves. I had all the paint and materials in stock to paint it so that was good. Not too sure if the fairing mounted mirrors will work on it or any other aftermarket fairing but I guess where there's a will, there's a way. I will be ordering a set of guages in the next couple of weeks that will include a tach, oil pressure, and oil temp. Plenty of room to mount them on the open face above the stereo.
Take a look at my photo album..lots of pics. I have since switched over to a smoked windshield and replaced the leather bags with a set of hard bags.
Let me know if you have any other questions specific to the DCC fairing and I'll do what I can to help out.

GMoney - i actually got this idea because i saw some pics that you posted in the road king picture thread when you first got your fairing - it look good on your bike
Cohiba Joe - I like that DeadCenter fairing - does the lock make it secure and tight to your bike? I'll keep an eye on your prorile for the new pics w/ the black windshield and the hardbags. The DeadCenter website says you can add the fairing mounted mirrors but it takes some modification -- guess nothing a dremel cant fix. What type of stereo/speakers did you install and how do you like them? Did Center sell you the fairing w/out the radio, if so what was the price?

Or you can try this, I found a scratched fairing for fifty bucks and just painted it to match my bike. I had to fork over all the cash for the PPG paint but also repainted my hardbags at the same time. Much, much cheaper option plus I did all the work. It is not hard to do, just find the fairing and don't get in a hurry..
