Tour pak with a mustang solo FLTR
I was wondering if anyone could comment how the king tour pak fits with a mustang solo seat. I have a 08 roadglide with a mustang solo with backrest and would like to add a king tour pak but I was wondering if I need to purchase the backrest for the king pak. Can I just keep on using my mustang backrest or do I need the backrest for the king pak? Thanks

This is about a chopped pack and solo, but should apply:

I temporarily mounted my previous King tour pak with backrest on the HD solo detachable rack using an HD solo seat (no rider backrest) and didn't care for the set-up. The backrest was too far back and too high to serve the purpose of a rider backrest (to support the lower back).
To be fair, where the tour pak's backrest will be relative to the rider will depend on the solo seat (the rider's fore/aft position will depend in part on the solo seat used), the rider's size, and the rider's posture.
Unless you plan to use the tour pak in a two-up situation, I'd go with iclick's rig, not buy the tour pak backrest, and use the Mustang rider backrest you already have.
The King tour pak will come with holes in the lid for mounting the backrest, so you will want to deal with them if you don't mount a backrest. Black plastic/nylon plugs work well--I used them to fill the speaker pod mounting holes on my new Ultra King tour pak.
Good luck with your project.
