Default Rear Wheel Alignment

Changed my rear tire to an Elite 3, (fantastic tire) and after a couple of weeks I checked the belt and it was a little loose. Went to adjust it and don't understand how to make sure the wheel is straight. Most bikes have an adjuster on both sides with graduations stamped on the swingarm, not Harley. Why they use those cams I don't understand. If someone could give me a quick way to make sure the wheel is straight I would appreciate it.

The cams ensure that axle has moved an equal distance on each side.

I'm assuming you've put the (removeable) cam on the correct way.

If you examine the cams you'll see how they butt up against the welded nub. As you turn the welded nut the wheel is pulled back and the belt tightens. It would be impossible for the wheel to be out of alignment - loose belt maybe - out of alignment nana!
