mine are powdered... i just wipe them off wiht water on a rag... done!

 

24k mi. on V&H Bigshot Duals.Still look like new,easy to keep clean.As far as touching up scratches.haven't had to yet.I've got a small one under the left saddle bag,which you can't see.I'd probably mask off the scratch and touch up with high temp. paint.Larger ones would probably have to be recoated.

 

Have had good results with Brake Kleen.
As mentioned, Hi temp paint is what is recommended by most mfg's for small touch up jobs.

 

Anyone have the Screamin Eagle black heat shields? I was thinking about adding these and doing new slip ons later.

Really nice looking scooter you have. I recently painted my 2-1 Python exhaust with VHT ceramic paint and it looks great and wears well. NO complaints.
