two open end wrenches and you'll have it. i'll be trading in my streetglide for either a screamin eagle streetglide, blue if they can find one for me, or for a roadglide in the next few weeks and don't want the high dollar black diamond one to go with the bike, as i'll re use it on the new bike. the rod ends on the stock ones are prone to failure so i've read, although i've owned six harleys in the past 15 or so years without an issue. it's easy to remove, be sure to use blue loctite on the new one if you're replacing it with a custom harley one or aftermarket one.
Thanks, that was pretty easy but when I went to put on the after market linkage, one hiem joint is smaller than stock therefore not allowing the same size bolt as the opening in the toe shift lever can accept. I think this is a manufacturing defect since putting a smaller diamter bolt would cause some sloppy action. Is there an installation secret I am missing, or is this just a defective part?
