Smile FloorBoard Rattle

I have an 08 Electra Glide Classic bone stock. There has been a rattling noise coming from the right front lower portion of the frame near the floorboard when I almost come to a complete stop. I originally thought It had something to do with the rear brake pedal, or the brake rigging. Well Yesterday I found the culprit, the right side floorboard is rattling at the front of the board where it bolts to the floor board bracket. The bracket, and floorboard as well as the rubber portion appears to be OK. The bolt is tight, It looks like the shaft on the bolt is smaller than the hole in the bracket and allows upward and downward movement causing an annoying rattle!! due to movement even when the bolts are tightened. I even tried swapping the front bolt for the rear one and it still rattles!!!
Any suggestions and or comments would help thanks Bill

try cutting a piece of rubber, or get a rubber washer, to put in between the mounting point and the bolt.

Buy floorboard extentions and get the benefit plus new bolts. Problem solved.

I put a steel washer on the shaft of the bolt, Used blue locktite and tighten the nut down. Problem solved.

Similar to above - bought some nylon washers at the hardware store. Used them as spacer for the front mount. Problem solved.
Might as well do both sides, because the other one will do it eventually!

Default An old thread, and a new (to me) solution

I know, it's an old thread; but a common problem and I just wanted to thank these guys for providing me with the solution. '09 Ultra, rattling left footboard, all bolts tightened up and still rattling. Two metal washers on either side of the front bracket arm and my rattle is gone. It was a tight fit but 45 minutes and a lot of swearing did the trick.
